Book excerpt: Joseph of Arimathea brings together modern research, ancient legends, and unique storytelling to trace the journey of Joseph of Arimathea from England to Palestine as he performs an annual pilgrimage there. During this particular trip to Palestine, Joseph’s world is turned upside down by the political crucifixion of Jesus at the hands of his enemies. Joseph, with his friend Nicodemus, buries Jesus’s body according to Jewish ritual. For this, Joseph is himself arrested, but he is delivered from imprisonment by the risen Jesus. As an ardent believer in and follower of God’s chosen one, Joseph plays a vital role in establishing the early church and its subsequent missionary movement. After fourteen years in Palestine, Joseph returns to England as a missionary. He is sent there as the first bishop to England and Wales, where he later builds a church at Glastonbury. Joseph carries to England the silver chalice and silver plate used during the Last Supper, along with a staff fashioned from the crown of thorns placed on Jesus’s head. Including a detailed appendix includes some of the surviving descendant lines of the two children of Joseph of Arimathea and his wife, Anna, Joseph’s story provides a fascinating account of some of the most precious historic Christian artifacts.

Book excerpt: The Houses of Israel and Judah dominate the scriptures from the time of King David until they both were sent into captivity. Each House had a destiny to fulfill. These destinies are being worked out today. What drives the destiny of these Houses? The Birthright is a term that many in the Church are aware of but without an understanding of its presence throughout the scriptures. It is manifested as the Dominion Mandate and the Fruitfulness Mandate through the Houses of Israel and Judah. What are the implications for the coming Kingdom of God and the Sons of God? We cannot know or comprehend this answer unless we understand the many foundational scriptures and concepts that establish God's Heart and Plan for the 'last days'. This study will challenge each person to be 'teachable' and open to another perspective of God's Plan for Redemption. God will reveal His Plan for you and your place in His Coming Kingdom. God is maturing His Believers to 'rule and reign' with Him.

Book excerpt: "And however paradoxical it may seem today, the 'Grail mood' is in the fullest sense to be found in Russia. And the future role that Russia will play in the sixth post-Atlantean epoch, a task of which I have so often had to speak, rests firmly upon this unconquerable 'Grail mood' in the Russian people." --Rudolf Steiner (Nov. 3, 1918) Although Eastern Europe has been part of Christian humanity for more than a thousand years, its task and spiritual identity remain a mystery, the answer to which cannot be found unless we look behind outer historical events to the spiritual, meta-historical dimensions of history. This momentous work, breathtaking in its scope and detail, represents just such a penetrating, esoteric study of Eastern Europe in the light of Rudolf Steiner's spiritual research. Prokofieff shows how, from the earliest times, the future "conscience of humanity" flowed from hidden mystery centers in Hibernia to the eastern Slavic peoples. As a result, qualities of "compassion, patience, and willingness for sacrifice" developed in their souls, creating a truly Christian "Grail mood." Despite incalculable suffering--from the persecutions by the Mogul hordes of the thirteenth century to the Bolshevik experiment of the twentieth century--this quality has become an unconquerable force in the depths of their being. In illuminating the maya of outer history, Prokofieff reveals the forces that have been at work to hinder the progress and future intentions of humankind. Those adversarial forces have created a "karma of materialism" that the eastern Slavic peoples have taken upon themselves out of their exalted willingness for sacrifice. Will we be able to use the present opportunity granted by this sacrifice to fulfill the primary purposes of the present cultural epoch? Serious study of this book--intended for students of spiritual science--can lead to a profound awakening to the challenges that face humankind today.

Book excerpt: Joseph of Arimathea tells the story of the man who took upon himself the task of burying Jesus after His crucifixion. Joseph, who is briefly discussed in all four gospel accounts, is a mere footnote in Scripture, but his actions speak volumes and give the working Christian an example of how to live for Christ in a world that opposes Him. Joseph of Arimathea reaches through the verses of Scripture to our own generation in a powerful, relevant, and compelling way. He teaches us that the ordinary matters. An ordinary person, living an ordinary life, can be an instrument in the hands of God to be used for His purposes. Looking closely at the life of this disciple, Joseph of Arimathea defines what it means to be a person of the small print and offers a paradigm-shifting perspective on how to be a disciple of Christ in a secular world. At a time when influence, followers, and clout are the order of the day, Joseph reminds us that small acts of faithfulness can lead to astounding influence and impact through justice, conscience, and power. Joseph of Arimathea validates the contemporary mindset of preparing to stand up for what is right, often in the face of, an increasingly hostile culture.

Book excerpt: The Truth is the award-winning first book in The Oracle Institute foundational trilogy. It presents a summary of the divine messages sent to us by God through the Prophets. When studied successively, these spiritual lessons form a "Tower of Truth" that should not be broken or interpreted along sectarian lines. Instead, these Truths should be assimilated into a contemporary spiritual and scientific database and shared by everyone, regardless of religious affiliation. The Truth explores the five primary religions that evolved after the Prophets died: Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam, to determine whether these manmade religions have remained faithful to the Truth, including the primordial Truth that God is half masculine and half feminine energy. The Truth reveals that mankind has built a "Tower of Babel" with God's messages. Moreover, these now ancient religions have polarized humanity and brought us to the brink of World War III. The book also includes an objective template for measuring the adequacy of any religion, and an Appendix that shows the nexus between politics and religion and politics thought human history.

This book was released on 2016-01-11 with total page 484 pages. Book excerpt: Unraveling the Family History of Jesus approaches Jesus as an historical figure and sheds light on the details of the settings, the circumstances, and the context in which His family lived. Steven Donald Norris—drawing upon a wide array of sources—brings to this work an historian’s sensibility of the broad sweep of events and a genealogist’s eye for capturing the fine nuances that make a family’s own story unique. Typical theological treatments of Jesus tend to regard Him as the Messiah because the New Testament identifies Him as a “son of David.” Unraveling the Family History of Jesus digs into the background and lineage of Jesus and, by uncovering the setting in life—Sitz im Leben—of His family, shows precisely how Jesus was a son of David and how He—by right—ought to be acclaimed “King of the Jews.” In addition, this work documents the connections tying Jesus’s extended family to several historical figures who played prominent roles in the destruction of Jerusalem. Norris’ work provides fresh insights that arise from meticulous reexaminations of existing historical sources. It traces the family ties binding Jesus’s forebears and His extended family to one another and to Jesus Himself and tells how this family’s influence changed the course of human history.

Book excerpt: From the lengthy research and pen of two lawyers, a judge and a former law professor, this book, In His Footsteps: The Early Followers of Jesus, is a guide to understanding the early Christian movement through a study of the lives and ministries of the first believers, most of whom had met with the risen Jesus and thus knew, without doubt, that Jesus was the Christ and Savior of the world. The book cites accounts from Eusebius, a third-century Greek Christian historian, who also referenced testimony from first-century Christians about the almost unbelievable courage of the early followers of Jesus, who willingly and fearlessly, despite tremendous persecution and sufferings, brought to an otherwise lost world an assurance of life eternal for all believers. The book also refers to the fulfillment of many of the biblical prophecies, the principal ones being the restoration of the nation of Israel and the return of many Jewish people to their homeland. This book is an indispensable resource for all persons, as the tremendous sacrifices of the first believers should never be forgotten.

Book excerpt: The Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Nations, and many ultra-right-wing racist "religious" organizations adhere to a doctrine called Christian Identity. Christian Identity is not a denomination, but a loosely organized movement embracing a range of beliefs. Its foundation is the theory that Anglo-Saxons (and Aryans, in most cases) are the true descendants of the Lost Tribes of Israel, and are the chosen people of God. Christian Identity is a bloodline religion: a belief system irrevocably tied to race. As such it lends itself to the violence, racism, and anti-Semitism of its more militant practitioners, and its growth and links to domestic terrorism warrant a better understanding of the movement. This survey of the Christian Identity Movement traces its development and beliefs, from its origins to its modern manifestations. It examines the doctrines and visions of the future of Identity communities and organizations in America. The initial chapter explores British Israelism, forerunner of most bloodline Identity groups; the oral traditions behind the movement are reviewed in the second. The third chapter outlines the American Israel, Israel Identity and bloodline Identity movements, including major figures and groups. The following chapters provide an introduction to Christian Identity itself, its general religious tenets, and post-Creation beliefs upon which much of the theory is based. Subsequent chapters describe militant bloodline and Identity groups, and individual militant Identity leaders. The final chapter explores the "Third American Revolution" predicted by these groups, a forthcoming war based on race and religion.

Book excerpt: History seems to have placed Joseph of Arimathea too far back in the shadow of Jesus. It is my belief that it was he who influenced Jesuss life the most. This is a story of that man, whose relationship, mentoring, and guiding Jesus, led to his greatness. Joseph as Jesuss uncle very likely took over as head of the family upon the death of Jesuss father. Joseph had all the credentials and means, a wealthy merchant with great influence in Rome and in his own community. A member of the assembly of high judges, which made the laws and meted out punishment, appointed Minister of Mines to Rome, a man who must have associated with the likes of Caesar, Pontius Pilate, and Herod. He placed his career, his life and that of his family in jeopardy by his close association with Jesus. He and Jesus had much to lose for the ideas and beliefs they projected. I believe that their message was much more than spiritual belief in an all-powerful, all-knowing God. I believe the message had much to do with liberty and freedom, which was suppressed under both Rome and the religious establishment of the time, all this, is not unlike the issues we are witnessing in Asia today.
